We’re currently training a team of Accredited Practising Dietitians to be experts in plant-based nutrition, including in:

  • optimum nutrition on a plant-based diet, including eating for better health and longevity
  • reaching and maintaining a healthy weight on a plant-based diet
  • plant-based nutrition for fertility, pregnancy, post-partum and lactation
  • nutrition for better gut function, including for Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Inflammatory Bowel Disease
  • dietary treatment of high cholesterol, high blood pressure (hypertension) and cardiovascular disease
  • managing diabetes and insulin resistance
  • nutrition for active plant-based adults and recreational athletes
  • management of food allergies and intolerances (adults)
  • management of osteopaenia and osteoporosis

Soon (subject to COVID-19 restrictions) you will be able to see one of our experts face-to-face in a city near you, but for now, our Founder Dr.  Amanda Benham is handling consultations Australia-wide.    Amanda is not only experienced in all the above area, but is trained and experienced in Paediatric Nutrition, including weaning babies on to a plant-based diet, toddlers, older children and adolescents.

 You can consult with Amanda in Brisbane (inner city and Shailer Park) or via tele-health (online video or phone).

Dr. Amanda Benham (consultations in Brisbane or via tele-health)

Amanda has extensive experience in all areas of plant-based nutrition and is our in-house expert in Paediatric Nutrition, including in preventing and overcoming fussy eating in children. She has helped hundreds of families raise their children on a plant-based diet and her two grown-up children are lifelong vegans.

Amanda is a Fellow of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine and is skilled in helping people adopt sustainable dietary changes to optimise their nutrient intake for better health and longevity and to address weight issues, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.  She has published in the area of dietary planning for nutrient adequacy and her PhD was on vitamin B12 in women of reproductive age on a vegan diet.  In her spare time Amanda enjoys going to the gym and caring for rescued animals.

  • Certificate in Food Allergy E-training for Dietitians (Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy)
  • Complete Health Improvement Programme Facilitator (Lifestyle Medicine Institute)
  • Certificate in Dietitian Essentials: The Treatment of Eating Disorders Course (Inside Out)

If you’re an Accredited Practising Dietitian who is passionate about plant-based eating, able to work in a capital city in Australia and willing to undergo extensive training, we’d love to hear from you!  You can start the online component of the training and then join us for the face-to-face component.

The final (face-to-face) component of the training is on hold until all COVID-19 border restrictions and lockdowns are lifted and we can safely arrange the necessary travel, accommodation, venue etc.  Online training is ongoing.
